La Rosa Desierta
The Full Story
Inge began to dance at the early age of 4 at her local dance school in Melbourne, Australia. She pursued tap, jazz and ballet and singing lessons and began to perform in dance school concerts. Dance and music became a part of her life, learning from the best dance teachers in Melbourne. Performing in a theatre was the ultimate joy for Inge to showcase her dance, music, acting and even comedy skills!
By the time she was 21 Inge was looking for a dance form that would speak more to her independent and fiery spirit. Flamenco dance and music became a new and exciting pursuit which inspired many trips to Spain to study further. Inge undertook flamenco study in reputable schools in Madrid, Seville, Jerez and Granada.
Eventually, she gravitated towards Granada style in particular which has shaped her dance style into what it is today. Inge returned to Spain on occasion, including a 2 year stay on a student visa between 2012-2014, and continued her Flamenco study at Carmen de las Cueva flamenco school in the caves of Sacromonte, Granada. During a working trip in Turkey in 2015 she decided to rekindle her passion for belly dance.
Inge studied traditional Turkish style belly dance in Istanbul and once she returned to Melbourne, continued to learn with a variety of Melbourne's best belly dance teachers. Recently, Inge has picked up the cajon and even more recently, the darbuka. She believes that a dancer should understand the different aspects of the music whether it's learning an instrument or song that's related to the genre of dance.
Inge has enjoyed her flamenco and belly dance career performing and teaching and continues to do so in her new home in Israel.
